“HIGHLY Recommend Eagle Eye Tours’ High Arctic and NWT trip If you want to explore Yellowknife, NWT, see nesting Bald eagles up close, observe Sand Hill Cranes displaying, and view snowy owls for hours, HIGHLY recommend this tour! While the guides will have activities planned to keep you busy from dawn until dusk, there’s also ample opportunity for any desired personal explorations or downtime. For example, elected to sleep in, do laundry, and explore Yellowknife on my own one day (ICE Pilots’ Buffalo Airways, lunch @ a small, highly rated restaurant that couldn’t accommodate our group, etc.), then joined the group for dinner. Cambridge Bay cannot be described in words. It must be experienced! Please keep in mind, unless you arrive for a visit few hours on a cruise ship, Eagle Eye is one of the few ways one can explore Victoria Island and the environs. If you have any concerns about healthcare on this remote island, there is a nursing station and an air ambulance standing by to whisk you to either Yellowknife or Edmonton in case of an emergency. And just so you know, I am a repeat Eagle Eye customer, with 2 EE trips already on my wish list for 2021!”

“This was the first birding tour that my wife and I took - it was superb. The guides were not just knowledgeable, they were committed to making sure that each birder saw every species, not always an easy thing! We have since taken the Trinidad-Tabago tour and that was equally fabulous.”

“I had always want to visit the Arctic and I wished that there had been more time for this portion of the tour. It is an interesting place and I think it takes a while to really appreciate its beauty and see the birds that live there.”

“I enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the birds and wildlife of the far north. Although the species list is somewhat short for a tour of this length, that is more than compensated for by the spectacle of seeing familiar winter and migrant birds (for many of us) behaving in totally different manners and sporting exquisite plumages. In addition, the leaders were very knowledgeable and ensured that everyone had a great experience.”
