Jan 8 - 17, 2026 | On our Panama birding tour you will be joined by expert guides in one of the world’s top birding destinations! We will focus on the Canal zone, and east into the Darien, a top birding haven. We’ll visit the the marvelous Pipeline Road at Soberania National Park Rainforest.

“A busy 9 days, filled with birds! We stayed at a hotel near the airport with a very nice swimming pool We started in a mountainous area near Panama City where we visited a home surrounded by hummingbirds at feeders. Then we drove to Torti and the Darien lowlands where we stayed for a couple days. The area is quite wild, with thick forest and lots of birds. Accommodations were very basic, but clean. Our last location was at a beautiful resort in Gamboa, with wildlife close by. We did several trips to discover more birds plus monkeys and other animals. Definitely a great trip!”

“The most important thing about this tour for us was seeing 256 species in ten days. Our two guides made sure we really saw those birds, not just listed them. We traveled on a comfortable bus to two parts of Panama. Even when we were in the poorer area, the Darien, we had lovely accommodations. The group was collegial, I think, in no small part due to the guides' responsiveness. Very, very glad we chose this trip (our fourth to Central America).”

“What an awesome trip! A great combination of easy birding (some feeders), a bit of adventure, beautiful locations, and great camaraderie between participants and guides. José Pablo and Benny were excellent guides, working tirelessly to find birds and then making sure we were all able to see it. Their pacing and communication/planning was excellent and they made sure everyone was in on the plan for the following day. I really loved when JP took up the mic in the bus to give us more information about birds, plants, ecology, conservation, history… and more! Despite some challenging weather conditions we were still able to be flexible and make the most of every day. I would highly recommend this tour! It was my first time birding in the tropics and I’m so glad it was with JP and Benny. Also, our bus driver, Misael (sp?) was great, adding local information as we travelled in different areas. Thanks to them all for a great trip!”

“Tremendous variety of birds and positive experiences. The guides were great at spotting the birds and getting good looks for the participants. They reacted quickly to the rapid changes in weather conditions. Comfortable rooms at the hotels and meals were excellent with a good variety. A great value. The Cerro Azul hummingbirds were one of many highlights.”

“This is the first organized birding tour I have ever done and it was excellent! It was very well organized and the packing list provided was very helpful for a first timer. The description on the website was perfect to set expectations for accommodations. So the basic hotel in Torti was exactly as described; VERY basic but functional. The one resort we stayed at was simply beautiful! The food was plentiful and, for the most part, surprisingly good. The bus driver was with us for the whole tour and keep our belongings secure while we were transferring and throughout the day each day. Our guides Daniel and Alex were very knowledgeable and eager to find us the birds and knew exactly where to go. This was the first Eagle-Eye tour experience for me but it will not be the last.”
