Mar 3 - 10, 2026 | Visit Puerto Rico for a Caribbean bird watching delight. We will visit a variety of habitats from sandy beaches and mangroves to dry arid scrub forest and surprisingly lush and verdant tropical montane forests. Along the way we’ll look for endemic birds like the Puerto Rican Tody, Elfin-woods Warbler, and we hope to see the critically endangered Puerto Rican Parrot.

What a fabulous birding location! The endemics and other bird species were beautiful and relatively accessible (thanks to the guides). The areas we visited – both general fields or roadsides and wildlife refuges - provided a wide variety of habitats and species; and the people were friendly and the island just gorgeous. A special shout-out to the guides who were knowledgeable, friendly, flexible (reacting quickly to various changing weather or other circumstances) and always “on”. They were helpful with “getting on the bird” and there was plenty of scope access. The various travel arrangements were well managed so I felt I didn’t have to worry about anything and just enjoyed myself!

Problem with first and last night hotel. Was not as organized as it should be ref meals, The most important aspect of the evaluation is the guides. The two guides were great. THey found all of the endemics and more.

Great tour with a great guide (Chris Burney). Chris was attentive to our needs, bird-wise and otherwise. Accommodations were generally comfortable: the start and finish hotel was on the airport's take-off path, so was noisy, but also offered good birding of a lagoon. Saw most of the birds that I sought, and we tried hard for the rest. "A" for effort. The small, congenial group made for easy travel and comfortable inter-personal relations. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the birding experience.
