Apr 1 - 16, 2026 | Northern Tanzania contains perhaps the most magnificent wildlife spectacle on Earth! On our tour we visit Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Serengeti National Park, as well as Ngorongoro Crater/Conservation Area and Lake Victoria. The list of splendid wildlife seems endless – lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes – and birding will be awesome, from Ostriches to Martial Eagles and Secretary Birds, from sunbirds to sandgrouse, bustards and hornbills. An unforgettable Tanzania wildlife safari awaits!

Outstanding views of mammals as expected on an African safari, but seeing birds in their breeding season and plumage made this safari unique. The guide and driver were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. It exceeded my expectations in every way.

Our Tanzania adventure was packed with wonderful things from beginning to end. We saw well over 400 bird species and dozens of species of mammals, not to mention all the reptiles, amphibians, insects, plants and a few mushrooms. The tour was very well-organized and led by a phenomenal guide. James knows all the birds and their calls, but more than that he can tell you about their habits, their migratory patterns and even their taxonomic history. If that wasn’t amazing enough, is he has a pretty large knowledge set of the mammals, insects and plants too! An old-world naturalist at heart, he loves nothing more than talking birds and their habitats. The green backdrop of the springtime parks loaded with flowers was beautiful and the parks were not very busy. I would not want to do this trip in the dust season. Two cautionary notes. Make sure to leave a buffer day at KIA Lodge for the trip home because flights from Mwanza to Kilimanjaro are not 100% reliable. Also note that many of the lodges turn off the electricity from around 10pm to 6am so if you need electrons during the night, prepare for that. We all had so much fun!

Truly a trip of a lifetime. We saw about four hundred birds and thousands and thousands of animals. We were amazed by the many unique birds and the number of animals that are so close to, or even on, the road. The accommodations are quite varied and all quite enjoyable. We stayed in two places with tents that had flush toilets and hot showers. At a couple places we saw wildlife and heard lions. The food was delicious and we ate well. It was an amazing trip.
