I've found these picks very good for picking out banjo solo runs, eg better speed and clarity. The only downside is they are very light guage which makes the tone a bit tinny sounding and they don't have good grip on your fingers, ie tend to keep slipping off your fingers quite often. Is there a heavier guage pick. If so probably would give more stability on your fingers while picking.

Tried these picks for the first time when I purchased them from Eagle Music a couple of weeks ago. They have changed my banjo playing dramatically, I can put more speed into my playing and the solo runs I play I can achieve more clarity. So well pleased with the picks I've ordered 4 more. 100 per cent recommend trying these picks,

I found the pickeys a lot less cumbersome and more precise than the spoon type

I asked Eagle Music for advice about changing the "tone" of a 60 year old banjo which I had bought. They advised heavier strings which were a big improvement. However they did not sound quite right using my normal picks. The Eanrine Ball Pickeys are a great compliment to the new strings and they were delivered the next day. Great!

I'm trialling these. I use National brass f/picks, much heavier, stronger sound, been using these some years. Picky Picks feel different, sound much lighter - pleasant. Maybe I'll use those for recording, I'll have to play more to get thoroughly used to them. They are certainly a very good f/pick - comfortable, quiet and secure.
