The session steel is Seydel's less expensive model with stainless steel reeds. Even the leather pouch is of a lesser quality than the 1874! The design (shape) I find better than the traditional style of the more expensive Seydels. It has excellent airtightness and the range of tunings available is the best of any Seydel. I have had many of these harmonicas over the years and love the sound. Alternatives for Natural Minor tunings by Hohner and Lee Oskar are not of the same standard. However, as they age, the Session Steel reeds do have a habit of breaking away from the reed bed particularly from the top end (8,9,10), hence only 4 stars
