“Dear Earthing Oz Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a concerning incident I experienced while wearing your grounding shoes, which I believe could be helpful for both customer safety and product improvement.
Today (Christmas Eve), while wearing the shoes in a shopping center, I received an electrostatic shock from an escalator. The shock was strong enough to cause my entire body to tense and relax in response, resulting in a momentary loss of balance. I had to catch myself on the handrail to avoid falling. While I understand that static shocks can happen in certain environments, the strength of this shock and its physical impact were unexpected, particularly considering the grounding shoes were designed to mitigate such occurrences.
I wanted to bring this to your attention to ensure that your team is aware of the potential effects of static buildup in environments like escalators. I am concerned that other customers may experience similar issues, which could pose safety risks, especially in more hazardous situations and even with other users such as those with pacemakers.
Could you please provide insight into whether this is something that your team has encountered before, and if there are any plans to address or improve the grounding effectiveness of the shoes? I would be happy to provide additional details if necessary.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and am confident that this feedback could help improve the product for everyone.
Best regards,
Dan Carlisle
