While this does exactly what it says on the tin, I am wondering whether having the super wide bandwidth of TB3 makes a huge difference. I'm daisy chaining this to a G:Drive EV which is TB1 and also a firewire 800 drive. So great that they all work together, with the extra bonus of an HDMI connector. But I think the band width would work just as well with the TB2 version (so the speed of the drives isn't really an extra gain). However, it is now future proof and as a raid system with an amazing 5 year warrantee by G:Tech, I would like to hope that certain aspects of my workflow are now covered from a critical fault perspective. I also have off site backups via the G:DRive EV, and am using a G:Drive EV 1TB SSD as a scratch disk, which is much faster than this GRAID, and then the GRAID becomes a live archive so to speak. For all this and adding another box on my desktop comes at a price, but I feel probably well worth it. I love the G:TECH brand.
