“This well-built Active Sub is designed to complement the new EON600 range, and has stereo balanced outputs from an internal crossover with frequencies designed to suit. Set-up is via bluetooth and the JBL app on a tablet or phone. Make sure you update the firmware before you get going (just be patient while this occurs). I partnered it with two EON612 cabs and it easily stretched the bass reach way down towards the claimed 31Hz, but at the same time gave the whole system an enormous increase in power output. The EON618 is way more sensitive than I imagined it would be, and I had to run it quite low on its gain control (7 o'clock) compared to the EON612s (set to 12 o'clock) for a good sound balance in the open air. The quality of the sound is tight, not woolly. Weightwise/sizewise, although lighter on paper than some subs, because of the size of the box, it's still hard to get your arms round it by yourself for loading/unloading, so really it's still a 2-man lift. Overall, very pleased, and on its first trial use in a garden, it got - not complaints from a neighbour - but actually a round of applause from him for the sheer life-like and hi-fi quality of the music that I played. Would thoroughly recommend any EON users to give this a go!”
