1911 Firing Pin FAQ
Why are there different firing pin diameters?
Over the history of the 1911, different manufacturers have used different firing pin diameters for various reasons, often related to caliber. For example, .092" was common for .45 ACP, while smaller diameters like .075" or .068" became popular for 9mm and .38 Super to increase breech face strength. It is critical to match the firing pin diameter to your slide's firing pin hole.
Gunsmith Installation Required For the safety and proper function of your firearm, this firing pin MUST be installed by a professional gunsmith.

I was having many light primer strikes from my brand new Springfield trp cc. This firing pin (and paired with heavier spring) 100% fixed the issue.

I purchased this firing pin for my SA Prodigy. It did not fit. The Prodigy has a .50 tip and the EGW has a .75. I was able to use the firing pin spring that I ordered and it took care of the light primer strikes.

Replaced the titanium firing pin and overly strong spring in my Springfield Armory 1911 with a standard steel firing pin and spring. It was perfect as always. You can't get better quality than you get with EGW parts. Made with the right steel, precision machined, properly heat-treated and finished. Ex-machinist and toolmaker here, been working on guns for 50 years and I know quality so I have been buying from EGW for years now.
