1911 Firing Pin FAQ
Why are there different firing pin diameters?
Over the history of the 1911, different manufacturers have used different firing pin diameters for various reasons, often related to caliber. For example, .092" was common for .45 ACP, while smaller diameters like .075" or .068" became popular for 9mm and .38 Super to increase breech face strength. It is critical to match the firing pin diameter to your slide's firing pin hole.
Gunsmith Installation Required For the safety and proper function of your firearm, this firing pin MUST be installed by a professional gunsmith.

Excellent Products. Minimal fitting required. I have several Prodigies and will fit each one over time. If you are going to buy the ignition kit I would suggest purchasing the stainless thumb safety as well. My original needed to be fitted and I screwed it up. So having a second one on hand helped immensely.

Im sorry to hear that you ran into fitment issues with our firing pin. We found that the .068" diameter pin fits the majority of the Springfield Prodigies. Unfortunately, the tolerances on those guns are all over the place and occasionally we will run into a gun that our firing pin does not fit. When that happens, contact our customer support team and we will exchange the pin for the next size down.

Perfect fit in SA Prodigy. No more primer flow and much better strike with normal firing pin spring.
