EGW Oversized 1911 Firing Pin .066" | Springfield Prodigy
Quick Check: This stainless steel 1911 firing pin has a .066" tip diameter and an overall length of 2.260".Commonly used in most Springfield Prodigy pistols. Measure your existing firing pin before ordering.
The EGW .066" Oversized 1911 Firing Pin is precision-machined from solid stainless steel for 1911 and 2011 slides requiring a small-diameter firing pin. It is a common replacement option for most Springfield Prodigy pistols, but firearm specifications can vary.
This firing pin is manufactured to a controlled overall length of 2.260". It is not an extra-long firing pin. Properly matching the firing pin diameter to the slide can help minimize excess clearance, primer flow, primer shear, and firing pin channel obstruction.
Important .066" Fitment Information
Commonly fits most Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy pistols.
May fit other 1911 and 2011 slides designed for a .066" firing pin.
Not every Prodigy, 9mm, .38 Super, 1911, or 2011 uses the same firing pin diameter.
Measure the existing firing pin and confirm the slide requirements before ordering.
Minor fitment may be required.

Why Firing Pin Diameter Matters
A firing pin that is too small for the opening can leave excessive clearance around the tip. With some ammunition, primer material may flow into that space and shear as the pistol cycles. Sheared primer material can enter the firing pin channel and interfere with movement.
A firing pin that is too large may not move freely through the slide. The correct firing pin must provide appropriate clearance without binding or leaving unnecessary space around the tip.
