The secret to a high-performance firearm is upgrading every possible component with superior materials. Here’s why our titanium mainspring cap is the superior choice:
Reduces Overall Weight: Machined from solid American titanium, this cap is significantly lighter than its steel counterpart, helping to reduce the overall weight of your firearm—a key advantage for concealed carry and competition builds.
Superior to Factory MIM Parts: This cap is CNC-machined from a solid bar of titanium, making it dimensionally perfect and incredibly strong. It is a significant durability upgrade over brittle, factory MIM (Metal Injection Molded) parts.

1911 Mainspring Cap FAQ
What is the benefit of a titanium mainspring cap?
A titanium mainspring cap offers a premium, lightweight alternative to a standard steel cap. While a small part, every gram counts for competitive shooters and those who carry a firearm all day. It provides the same strength as steel at a fraction of the weight and is completely corrosion-proof, making it a true "buy it for life" upgrade.
Is this a drop-in part?
Yes, for most in-spec 1911 and 2011 pistols, this is a direct drop-in replacement for the factory mainspring cap. However, disassembling the mainspring housing can be tricky due to the compressed spring. For safety and to prevent losing parts, we strongly recommend having this part installed by a qualified and professional gunsmith.
Gunsmith Installation Recommended
For the safety and optimal performance of your firearm, we strongly recommend having this part installed by a professional gunsmith.

BEFORE ORDERING THIS SPACE-AGE PART FOR YOUR 1911 PISTOL, DO THE FOLLOWING: * REMOVE THE STEEL M/S CAP, CLEAN WELL, & THEN WEIGH ON YOUR POWDER SCALE. PUNCH IN THAT NUMBER ON YOUR CALCULATOR & THEN SUBTRACT 40% FROM THAT WEIGHT AND THAT WILL BE THE SAVING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE STEEL & TIT. PARTS !!!! REASON: THE < WEIGHT THE M/S HAS TO OVERCOME, AS IT RELEASES ALL ITS KINETIC ENERGY STORED IN THAT COMPRESSED SPRING, THE FASTER ITS RELEASE WILL BE & ITS VELOCITY ACCELERATION FACTOR WILL PRESS FASTER & QUICKER AGAINST THE HAMMER AND THUS CARTRIDGE IGNITION WILL OCCUR A FEW MOMENTS FASTER. THIS CAUSES THE BULLET TO EXIT THE MUZZLE QUICKER THAN THE NEXT MUZZLE WIGGLE CAN OCCUR & SHOT GROUPINGS WILL BE SMALLER ON THE PAPER TARGET....YES, "GRASSHOPPER" IT IS NOTHING MORE THAN PURE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & UNDERSTANDING THE PHYSICS OF JUST HOW PARTS MOVE IN SEQUENCE TOGETHER, FOR PROPER FUNCTIONALITY OF THAT FIREARM THAT IS IN YOUR HANDS !!!!!!!
