Prodigy Guide Rod FAQ
How does this guide rod simplify takedown?
Our one-piece guide rod simplifies disassembly of the Prodigy. It has a small hole drilled through it. During takedown, you retract the slide slightly, insert a small pin or a bent paperclip into the hole to capture the recoil spring, and then easily remove the entire slide assembly from the frame. It's a proven, reliable method that eliminates the need for the factory two-piece guide rod that requires an Allen key.
Will this fit the 4.25" Springfield Prodigy?
No. This guide rod is specifically dimensioned for the 5" Prodigy model. It is not compatible with the 4.25" model.
Important Fitment Information
This guide rod kit is for the Springfield Prodigy 5" model only. It will NOT fit the 4.25" model.

Haven't shot the gun yet but it went in snuggly and seems to be working well.

Fit and finish is great, fit like it should. I haven’t been to the range yet but gun functions as it should. My only concern is the 8 pound spring if it will be heavy enough, I don’t want to beat the gun up. If it isn’t I will just change it out. I did install it on my comped prodigy so it might work out.

Fairly easy to install/uninstall and works great. Retaining pin provided bent up shortly after using it but was able to use a small Allen wrench to capture the guide rod spring. So far I'm very happy with the Magwell extension, slide stop lever and guide rod I purchased for the Springfield Prodigy I have

This kit is awesome. Makes disassembly and reassembly a whole lot easier. Not to mention that it makes the muzzle area look cleaner too.
