Prodigy Guide Rod FAQ
How does this guide rod simplify takedown?
Our one-piece guide rod simplifies disassembly of the Prodigy. It has a small hole drilled through it. During takedown, you retract the slide slightly, insert a small pin or a bent paperclip into the hole to capture the recoil spring, and then easily remove the entire slide assembly from the frame. It's a proven, reliable method that eliminates the need for the factory two-piece guide rod that requires an Allen key.
Will this fit the 5" Springfield Prodigy?
No. This guide rod is specifically dimensioned for the 4.25" Prodigy model. It is not compatible with the 5" model.
Important Fitment Information This guide rod kit is for the Springfield Prodigy 4.25" model only. It will NOT fit the 5" model. Please Note: All guide rod kits come pre-installed with a recoil spring selected by our team as the recommended weight for this application. For liability and safety reasons, we do not swap or substitute springs included in these kits. If you prefer a different spring weight than the one provided, it must be purchased separately.

Issues with the reverse plug fitment even after sanding and filing. Used the guide rod but with stock reverse plug. They did offer rma and a refund but I already didn’t want to deal with the back and forth. Im giving the part a 3 star. Their customer service deserves a 5 star
