EGW's HD Block Slide Stop has a .200" diameter pin and is machined from stainless steel. This slide stop is made specifically for 9mm / .38 Super / 10mm/ .40 S&W 1911s although we do offer a .45 ACP version as well. Many new 1911s are being built with futuristic designs and we wanted to offer a new, interesting take on the slide stop and thumb safety. Two components that typically don't have too much variety. This is what we came up with. When paired with our HD Block Thumb Safety, your gun will look like it came straight from the future. This product is machined from solid. We do not have any slide stops with a smooth pad. Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. To prevent exposure, do not alter the product by welding, grinding, etc. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Fantastic Slide release on my Prodigy! It helped out substantially with the speed reloads. I just wish they made it also in a Parkerized finish! Nevertheless, I would recommend this upgrade to anyone who wishes to use their 1911/2011 as a competition/combat pistol. Just be aware of your holster specifications.

A much better solution than the manufacturer standard slide lock lever. Something I can get my thumb on without repositioning my grip all over. Thanks for a great product!!

Worked great. Much better than the factory slide lock from Springfield.

The slide stop is too wide and heavy and would not hold the slide open on my 1911 Kimber. Maybe they sent one for a 45 which will not work in a 9mm or 38 super. When I physically engaged the slide stop it would jam up and was hard to release. I cannot return it because I modified it before I realized it would not function properly. A better design extends the release pad to the rear for better leverage and does not stick out so far. "the old gringo"
