This is a quality heat treated part that will match the cut out on a well-manufactured 1911 frame. The mag catch is checkered for better grip. This part is NOT MIM or CAST. Our mag catches are NOT tapped for buttons. The button on our mag catch is standard GI spec.

“Beautifully (carefully) made and fininished. Fit and function were great. After several trips to range, a tiny "burr" appeared where the mag catch was coming incontact with the inside of the frame (a small "witness mark" clearly identified the area of interest. This was easily remedied with a couple of light touches with a small fine file; then the mag catch traveled perfectly smoothly. (I had a series of reduced power mag catch springs, but there was no need to use one of them.) If anyone is interested, I was replacing the OEM mag catch from a Tisas Stingray (1911, bobtail, 9mm). It is so gratifying to have EGW components for our use. Hope this information will be helpful.”
