This is a quality heat treated part that will match the cut out on a well-manufactured 1911 frame. The mag catch is checkered for better grip. This part is NOT MIM or CAST. Our mag catches are NOT tapped for buttons. The button on our mag catch is standard GI spec.

“I have had lots of magazine problems from using different brands of mag catches for my 1911 9mm pistols. After having great success with other EGW parts, I bought three of these HD Standard Shelf Mag catches for all three of my 1911s. Now, I not only have no more magazine problems, but I am able to switch to my favorite Wilson 10 round mags, which didn't work with other brands of mag catches. I built these three 1911 9mms from Caspian frames and slides. I am thinking about building a fourth 1911 and if I do, I will be buying ALL EGW PARTS for them because I'm tired of having to buy other brands of parts and having them fail in some way, just to find out that EGW parts work the best. And, they seem to hold up the best.”
