The EGW 1911 Officer's Mainspring Housing is a premium replacement for Officer-length 1911 frames, including the Colt Defender. Fully machined from solid stainless steel bar stock, this housing provides a durable alternative to factory plastic mainspring housings while maintaining the compact dimensions required for Officer-size frames.
The housing features a traditional flat profile with aggressive but practical 25 LPI checkering. The checkering provides additional traction against the palm without being excessively sharp, helping maintain a secure grip during recoil and repeated firing.
Because the mainspring housing forms the rear portion of the grip frame, replacing a plastic factory housing with a machined stainless steel component also adds weight low and toward the rear of the pistol while providing the solid feel of a metal component.
This part is supplied as the mainspring housing only. Internal pins and springs are not included. You can reuse the appropriate components from your original mainspring housing or purchase new Officer-size mainspring housing components separately.
