The EGW 1911 Officer's Mainspring Housing is a premium replacement for Officer-length 1911 frames, including the Colt Defender. Fully machined from solid carbon steel bar stock and finished in blue, this housing provides a durable metal alternative to factory plastic mainspring housings.
The housing features a traditional flat profile with 25 LPI checkering. The checkered rear surface provides positive traction against the palm, helping the pistol stay securely positioned in the hand during recoil.
Because the mainspring housing forms the lower rear portion of the grip frame, replacing a lightweight plastic housing with a machined steel component also adds weight low in the pistol while providing the solid feel of a traditional metal 1911 component.
