Why do I need a "Keyed" plug?
The Springfield Prodigy 4.25" slide is cut specifically for a reverse plug that locks in place. If you use a non-keyed (round) plug, it can rotate during cycling, potentially misaligning with the recoil spring or guide rod head, causing malfunctions. This plug locks into the slide cut to prevent rotation.
Will this fit the 5" Prodigy?
No. The 5" Prodigy typically uses a shouldered reverse plug system with different dimensions. This plug is specifically dimensioned for the 4.25" Commander-length slide.
