Uses a standard forward assist pin (not included).For use on Competition ARs that do not use the forward assist. Anodized for long life, matted to match most uppers. “The forward assist plug works as it should without any fitment issues. I use the EGW ones in all my upper receiver assemblies. Note: If you're building from a stripped upper you'll need roll pin for the plug. If you're replacing a forward assist in an already buiit upper, you can reuse the roll pin.”

“Forward assist is an unnecessary feature for a non-battle rifle,IMO,so if I can't get a slick side upper, I use these plugs to cleanly fill the port. Machined well with nice, clean (anodized?) black finish. If I'm having parts cerakoted, I may start getting these coated in the color of the receiver to make it even cleaner looking.”
