Installation & Overview
(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).
Turn your workhorse Remington 870 into a precision tool. Whether you are building a dedicated slug gun for deer season or mounting a red dot for turkey hunting, this EGW Picatinny rail is the solid foundation you need. This rail allows you to mount any Picatinny or Weaver-style optic to your 870, providing far greater versatility than standard cantilever barrels.
Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail is lightweight and specifically contoured to fit the 870 receiver. The extruded center channel reduces weight and keeps the profile low. We include the standard #6-48 screws used on most factory-drilled Remington "Tactical" and "Turkey" models.

Remington 870 Rail FAQ
How do I know if my 870 is drilled and tapped?
Look at the top of your receiver. If you see 4 small screws (plug screws) or empty threaded holes, your gun is ready for this mount. If the top of the receiver is completely smooth metal, you will need to take it to a gunsmith to have the holes drilled before you can install this rail.
Will this fit a 20 Gauge?
Usually, no. The 20 Gauge 870 receivers are smaller and have a tighter radius than the 12 Gauge models. This mount is machined for the 12 Gauge receiver curvature. It may physically bolt on if the hole spacing matches, but there will be gaps between the rail and the receiver.
Is this good for turkey hunting?
Yes. This is the industry standard for mounting a red dot sight (like a Vortex Venom or Burris FastFire) to a turkey gun. It provides a secure zero that won't shift, unlike saddle mounts that can wobble over time.

It did not fit on the receiver of my Remington 870 field master because it was slightly too long and one end was resting on the rib of the barrel. I had to cut it down about 1/2 inch for it to fit properly.

Mounted my burris fastfire onto my 870 flawlesslessly. My only recommendation is better labeling of fasteners to use. I had to test out a couple different sets before finding the right ones. This mount should really be talked about more on forums and whatnot.

I am a gunsmith and use these regularly. The bases and screws fit perfectly every time, unlike other manufacturers I have tried that never fit properly. Top quality parts, fast shipping, and excellent customer service!

The screw holes line up really well. But the rail is a little long to be used with the stock barrel on Remington 870 fieldmaster. The rib is too high and prevents a good seat of the rail and receiver. I will end up having to purchase a new barrel that doesn't have the vented rib. Other than that it seems to be a great product.
