Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). We recommend:0 MOA - if shooting 0-500 yards20 MOA - if shooting 500-1000 yardsWhen zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA.   Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. this was to fit gen 1 flat back med/action with 4.522 C/L of action screws, and it does. But when screwed to flat back the front end with radius is about .015 to .020 above action. The rail is flat on surface plate, so my action is one of savage many changes, or EGW has their dimensions wrong. I will mill off the flat face and make it fit, but just hate to fix new stuff.

It works perfectly well and modernizes my Savage 110S metallic silhouette rifle. It was built in 1980 and this medium Serie "J" action has not been manufactured since 1987 so it is difficult to locate one. EGW is the only one that provides the rail and I suppose there should be a demand for the thousands of rifles of that era still available. Now the rifle has more flexibility and I was able to mount a Primary Arms scope that due that did not fit the old mounts due to the rather short body of the scope. In any case, I am very happy with my purchase. I have made several purchases from your company thru the years for gun parts that are hard to find.

It worked absolutely perfect, I had to go directly to you to find it available. You had it, I ordered it and arrived quickly I installed with no problems and sighted in the rifle. Perfect. And I have one more oldie thats available from EGW that's in my basket, I will be ordering soon. Thank you very much.

I was afraid I couldn't find a scope base for a rifle action that was discontinued 20 years ago. But EGW had the base and it fit perfectly.
