Installation & Overview
(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).
Bring your classic Savage 110 Long Action up to modern standards. If your rifle was made before 2003, it likely has a "Flat Back" receiver where the rear mounting surface is flat rather than round. This EGW Picatinny Rail is specifically machined to fit that flat profile, providing a rock-solid, one-piece mounting platform for modern optics on your .30-06, .270, or 7mm Mag. Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail is lightweight and rigid. The center channel reduces weight and allows you to use iron sights on some models. The full-length cross slots give you complete freedom to position your scope rings for proper eye relief—something often difficult to achieve on older Savage actions with two-piece bases. Savage Flat Back FAQ
How do I know if I have a "Flat Back"?
Look at the rear of your receiver (where the bolt handle is). If the top surface is flat like a table, you have a Flat Back (Pre-2003). If it is round like a pipe, you have a Round Back (Post-2003/AccuTrigger).
How do I check my action length?
Measure the distance between the two inner-most scope base holes. For this Long Action rail, that distance should be exactly 4.63 inches.
Will this fit the Savage Axis?
No. The Savage Axis (and Edge) uses a completely different hole spacing. Please see our specific Savage Axis rails.

As I write, it 24 degs outside, so I won't be shoot and sighting in the scope. However it's mounted to the gun with no issues. The sales rep I worked with was awesome. I was told by another company I needed a short action rail, your rep after a few questions, told me I needed a long one. Thank him for his expertise.
