Installation & Overview
(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).
Complete the look of your stainless Savage Axis. This **Silver EGW Picatinny Rail** is finished with a matte silver anodizing that perfectly complements stainless steel barrels and actions. It replaces the flimsy factory two-piece bases with a rigid, one-piece platform, eliminating alignment issues and stiffening the receiver for better accuracy. We have future-proofed this mount by including hardware for every variation of the Savage Axis. Whether you have an older model drilled for #6-48 screws or a newer production drilled for #8-40 screws, the correct hardware is in the bag. No guessing games—just open the box and mount it. Savage Axis FAQ
Is this paint or anodizing?
This is a silver anodize. It is not paint. The anodizing process creates a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that matches the matte stainless look of your receiver.
I have a short action (.223/.243). Will this fit?
Yes. Savage builds all Axis rifles on a single "Long Action" receiver length, regardless of the caliber. This rail fits every caliber from .223 to .30-06.
Does this fit the Savage Edge?
Yes. The Savage Edge was the original name for the Axis. They use the exact same receiver geometry and hole spacing.
