Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). We recommend:0 MOA - if shooting 0-500 yards20 MOA - if shooting 500-1000 yardsWhen zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA. I ordered 2 of these. I had a Winchester 88 and a Sako Finnwolf VL63 that I acquired from a collection. The both had 1960's/1970's Leupold scopes on them that were just crosshairs. I removed them, as the Picatinny rail holes aligned with both of them, and mounted the picatinny rails on both rifles (I saved the original hardware). I then mounted a scope on the Sako with one piece Tactical Lever Scope Rings and zeroed the Rifle. I was able to shoot steel with it at 600 yards on my first outing. I moved the Scope (removing it using the tactical levers) and moved it to the Winchester 88. I had to re-zero the Winchester 88, as it was definitely a mil or two off and was able to ring steel with the Winchester 88. I would not have been able to use the same scope on both rifles without these Picatinny Rails. They may be a bit high, but I did not need to get another scope for rifles that I don't shoot that much. I would recommend this rail to anyone with a Winchester 88 or Sako Finnwolf VL63!!
