This is a custom solution for Newer Model Ruger M77 Short Action owners who need a true Picatinny mounting platform. Because the factory Ruger M77 utilizes proprietary integral scope bases, mounting a standard Picatinny rail requires modification. This rail is designed to be permanently mounted to the receiver via drilling and tapping.
This is the ideal upgrade for gunsmiths custom-building a rifle on a modern M77 Short Action who want to convert to a universal 1913 Picatinny standard.

M77 Drill & Tap Rail FAQ
Will this fit my older "Tang Safety" M77?
No. The older M77 rifles typically have a rounded receiver top. The radius of this mount is designed for the newer "Flat Top" style receivers found on Mk II and Hawkeye models. It will not seat correctly on the older round actions.
What screws does this use?
This rail is drilled for 8-40 screws, which are heavier duty than standard 6-48 screws, providing extra security for heavy recoil.
