We recommend measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions we have published. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). We recommend:0 MOA - if shooting 0-500 yards20 MOA - if shooting 500-1000 yardsWhen zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA. Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. “This is the 4th Mauser pic rail I have purchased from EGW. They have been mounted on rifles chambered in 7mm-08, 308 Win, 338 Federal and 9.3 x 62. Best recommendation I can give is that none of these rails have ever failed - even on a weapon that weighs 8 lbs. with scope and throws a 286 grain bullet.”

“The rail that I purchased was of pour quality, the mounting holes were about 2 mm off so it was impossible to mount unless it was heavily modified further when or if mounted the rail interferes with the bolt handle so it would be impossible to work the action.”

Hi Scott, Im sorry to hear that our mount did not work for your application. We have found that there inconsistencies in hole spacings on mauser receivers. For this reason we list the hole spacing measurements on all of our mounts, so you can compare them to your receiver before purchasing the mount. We also offer an undrilled mount for these mauser actions, so if your spacings do not match our mount, you can get the undrilled mount and take it to a smith to drill to match your specifications. “The rail works well and fits my Interarms MK X. Howver, I expected the rail to be a picatinny type and not a Weaver type rail. I would have preferred a 1913 style more than a Weaver style. The rail is a little to long and for a minute, I though I might have to cut a little off the barrel end and keep it from hitting the scope. It turned out that the scope is a tad longer and the bell just barely missed the rail. The pictures show what I mean. Overall the rail works and I did not have to modify it for my use.”

All of our mounts are built to the 1913 Picatinny specification, except for the valley in the center of the base. In terms of width and the spacing of the peaks and valleys, they match the Picatinny spec, which allows both Picatinny and Weaver rings to fit on our mount. Depending on the size of your objective lens, we recommend considering a size up in rings. Some customers have also opted to remove the front cross slot or two to provide additional clearance, and we’ve found this solution works well in certain cases.
