We recommend measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions we have published. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA. Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. To prevent exposure, do not alter the product by welding, grinding, etc. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

I ordered this picatinny mount to install on my Marlin Centennial 39 because my wife loves this rifle but as we are experiencing aging eyesight, to clearly see both sights AND the target is an impossible challenge. It fit and mounted perfectly, as did the red dot attached to it. First range trip with said EGW rail and optic produced 2" groups at 50 yards, very stable set up. I very much appreciate this rail being available and made really well!

Apparently, over the long period the Marlin 39A was produced, the length of the flat area of the top of the receiver (to which the rail is mounted) changed slightly. The producers of this mount must not have been aware of this initially. To correct bases that had already been produced (and black anodized), they relieved the bottom side of the base - so the bases would fit ALL receivers (long or short). They did not, however, bother to have these bases stripped and re-anodized - but just left the relieved area raw aluminum. Not an ethical thing to do in my book...but certainly a "cheap" way to salvage bases that were already made.

Had to get the modified version for my rifle, but it fit perfectly and gives me nice options for mounting an optic

Had to modify it to sit right ... The only other option I saw was to order it and modify it. Because how would you know if it makes contact with the "radius"as it says in the description .. might as well modify them all to fit and send them out that way it would only have more clearance and fit both models.. since apparently there's a model this fits without modification? ..
