“Great fit for my Ruger Security 9. A lot of the other mounts I looked at seemed too generic and oversized to accommodate a universal fit. I wanted the most direct and streamline mount and this did that for me. For anyone with a vortex and a security 9 this would be the way to go.”

“The mount fit very nicely in the rear sight dovetail. The Vortex sight fit on the base perfectly! The only thing I would like changed, would be a hole to secure the base to the slide with a set screw, like the factory rear sight uses.”

“Does not have screw slots for you to screw the plate into the Ruger security 9. it will allow you to screw the red dot into the plate but you can’t secure the plate into the slide. As it is a tight fit , you can easily slide the red dot while connected to the plate on and off the pistol by using your thumbs. I wouldn’t recommend this for people using the Sight Mark Mini Shot even though the description says it will work when In fact it doesn’t. I would return the item but I’ve already discarded the return label. Not worth the money.”

Thanks for your review. This mount is meant to be a press fit dovetail mount, so it should install very tight (usually you need a rear sight pusher tool to install it) and then there is a setscrew in the dovetail to retain pressure. If the mount installs pretty easily, you can add a dab of blue loctite to the dovetail portion and that along with the set screw keep it in place. It sounds like your mount did not install as tight as it should and that is what the issue is. Unfortunately, we can not match every slide due to manufacturing differences and we do not make the slides. If you want to send the mount back we can check it to spec and replace it if it is undersized. If it is not undersized, that means that the dovetail cut in the slide is larger than normal and we do not have an oversized option. We can issue a refund at that point.
