I have a PT1911 and your mount does not fit. It is not high enough to clear the top of the slide. I either have to return it or find a gunsmith that can mill the bottom of the mount. So your advertising is incorrect and should be modified to show that it does NOT fit the PT1911 as claimed.

My 70-year-old eyes don't see iron sights anymore, so, I have been adding Red Dot sights to all of my handguns. I now have a total of 7 EGW dovetail mounts on various makes. (Kimber, CZ, Sig, Taurus) As clearly stated, some had to be hand fit, but, the point is, THEY FIT! EGW is the only dovetail mount that I have found that works as it should.

While I was able to force the mount into my Taurus 1911, the sight angled upwards so my gun would basically shoot into the ground. It has been a waste of $50 for me.

Thanks for the review. This fitment is not typical with our scope bases. Would you be able to send some pictures of the fitment to our info email?

Very tight fit. Way better than another mount system I tried.
