This mount allows you to install optics like the Vortex Venom (Open Emitter), Vortex Viper, Burris FastFire, Viridian RFX25, and other compatible micro red dots without permanent slide modification.
The mount is designed to install from left to right with the muzzle facing forward. The dovetail uses a progressive taper to allow for easier installation and a secure fit.

Tight fit. Gentle tapping got it in with out any milling to the mount. I don’t think everyone should install this on their own, if you have any doubts your better off going to a gunsmith.

Installation was a challenge. I had to file the mount down quite a bit to get it to fit into the dovetail rear sight mount. Fortunately, I'd looked at a post on YouTube showing they also had that issue. Otherwise, I would have ended up returning the mount. BUT since I did get it installed, I was able to sight in my Vortex Venom precisely, and it worked quite well!

The sight mount was easily fitted with minimal filing. Small changes at a time. If you are NOT machinist minded I recommend you have this fitted by a qualified experienced gunsmith. It would also help if the company supplied a torque recommendation with the instructions. However once mounted it was perfect, the optic mounted readily to it and it's great overall.

It did not fit because I am an idiot and ordered this mounting plate not realizing I had an M&P 2.0 version which this does not fit. However, I am betting this would fit the standard M&P just fine! EGW makes fantastic products!

Communication - I messaged to ensure I was purchasing the correct mount and my message was answered very timely. I was provided an order confirmation, an invoice and a notification that the mount had been shipped. Shipping - The mount was shipped quickly and arrived quickly. The mount itself - The mount did require some minor work on the dovetail with a file to get it to go in. Perhaps it would have gone in with a bit more force than I was willing to apply and still been fine but I chose to just file it a bit. I mounted a Vortex Viper and it was a perfect fit. Satisfaction - So far I am totally satisfied with everything from start to finish.

This was the BIGGEST pain in the ass to put on. I actually had to take my gun to a gun smith and have them do it.
