Installation & Overview
Upgrade your 1911 with a G.I. style rear sight cut with a low-profile red dot mounting solution without permanent slide modification. This EGW mount replaces the factory rear sight, allowing you to install a red dot using the existing dovetail.
Designed for optics using the Docter footprint, this mount supports popular red dots like the Vortex Venom (open emitter), Vortex Viper, and Burris FastFire series. It creates a clean, direct-mounted setup for range use, defensive shooting, competition, or custom 1911 builds.
Machined from 7075 aluminum and finished in matte black hardcoat, this mount offers excellent strength while keeping added weight to a minimum. The direct dovetail design keeps the optic lower than many rail adapter setups for faster sight acquisition and a cleaner profile.
The mount is designed to install from left to right with the muzzle facing forward. The dovetail has a progressive taper to allow for easier installation and a secure fit. Due to manufacturing tolerances between firearms, minor fitting may be required.
