Installation & Overview
The EGW red dot sight mount adapter plate for Smith & Wesson 1911 pistols and Smith & Wesson 5900 Series pistols with fixed rear sights allows you to mount popular Docter footprint optics directly to your slide by replacing the factory rear sight. This mount is designed for shooters looking to add a Vortex Venom, Vortex Viper, Burris FastFire or compatible optic without permanently modifying the slide.
Machined from durable 7075 aluminum and finished in matte black hardcoat anodizing, this mount provides a secure and low-profile optic mounting solution while maintaining the ability to return the firearm to its factory configuration.
EGW red dot mounts are designed to install from left to right with the muzzle facing forward. The dovetail features a progressive taper to allow easier installation while maintaining a tight and secure fit.
Due to manufacturing tolerances between firearms, minor fitting may be required.

Installation Instructions
Remove the factory rear sight
Install the EGW Sight Mount into the dovetail
Tighten the set screw if applicable
Place the optic onto the EGW Sight Mount
Apply blue Loctite to the mounting screws
Torque mounting screws to 15 in/lbs
Fitment Notes
We have found that minor fitting may be required on some Smith & Wesson 5900 Series pistols.
Due to manufacturing tolerances between firearms, minor fitting may be required.
