If your revolver is not drilled and tapped this mount will not work. The best way to verify that it is/is not drilled and tapped is to open the cylinder and check the rib underneath. There should be through holes that are drilled and tapped. If there are not (like the above image) this mount will not work without you having the gun drilled and tapped. You can have a competent and qualified gunsmith drill and tap the top strap with the standard S&W hole pattern which will allow you to use our mount. Simply remove the rear sight on your gun and replace it with our mount in order to mount your Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, JPoint, Redfield Accelerator, or Optima red-dot sight. You can take our mount off and replace your rear sight at any time. Mounting hardware included.Installation Instructions- Remove the rear sight*- Install the EGW Sight Mount in place of the rear sight- Place the red dot sight on the EGW Sight Mount(placing a small piece of paper between the red dot sight and the sight mount will make for easier removal and will keep Loctite off of the red dot sight.)- Apply blue Loctite to the provided mounting screws- Torque mounting screws to 15in/lbs

“Easy to install, tight fit. Works great. Only issue: the of the three mounting holes, the back one is bored too deeply. If you tighten the screw all the way, it will scrape the cylinder. I had to put some thread around the screw to fix it. This is the case on both my S&W model 66 and my S&W model 29, k frame and n frame, respectively. They probably do this so the sight will fit flush on the plate. They could fix this by providing a screw that is about 1mm shorter.”

“The mountain fit perfectly in my 686 rear sight groove. Simple to install, I did have to trim the rear screw a bit so it didn’t extend below the top of the frame into the cylinder housing, but very quick and simple fix with a dremel. I didn’t use thread locker and have 300 rounds through the revolver and have not had to retighten the mount. This was a great purchase.”

“Used to mount a Vortex Defender CCW on a Smith & Wesson Stealth Hunter .44 magnum N Frame revolver. I have not fired it yet, but it fit as it should. I ran into one issue, in that the rear mounting screw that sits under the sight was too long, and actually kept the cylinder from rotating when torqued down all the way. I needed to file about 3/32" off the screw so it would clear the cylinder and be about flush on the bottom side of the frame. I would suggest EGW include 2 longer screws and a shorter screw for mounting.”

“Threw this on a 686 + deluxe. Fitment is extremely tight with the sig romeox compact, but it fits and sits flush on the plate. Only improvements I might suggest might be for capability to add irons to the plate itself since it’s above the 686 front sight”

“The mount fit very nicely on the Smith and Wesson 627. The Deltapoint Pro fit on the mount perfectly. The only caveat was the screw in the rear most postion on the revolver was too long and would have hit the cylinder if not shortened. The revolver clover leafs at 20 yards now.”

“Fit on S&W 686+ revolver without any issue. I did had to contact the support team to get different screws size as the screw location furthest back, the screw was hitting the cylinder. They were responsive and send me shorter screws which solve the problem.”

“I purchesed and EGW mount for by S&W 350 Legend with a Sig Romeo red dot. I love it! Great rig! I can not wait until till deer season! I am goining to need more tags with this thing! I might actully go look for a ground hog or 2 with this set up... Smokn on free handed at 50 yds! Let's go!!”

“Trihher finger still works well but the Eyes arent what the used to be. Have to mount dot sights Bought this to mount a Vortex Defender on a S&W 500. Keeps sight low to the revolver and fit perfectly. It took only 5 rounds to sight it in ( thank goodness ). Recoil is fierce. Mount held fast. Last 2 rounds after sight adjustment were both in the same hole in the x-ring. Since it appeard to have held tight and I would not hesitate to put on any of my other revolvers.”
