As with most things 1911 related, these are oversized to deal with tolerance differences that emerge from different manufacturers. The footprint was perfect, the level of the platform is really nice, and the finish is an anodized black that seems to to well with everything. Took some gusto to get installed but it is now not going anywhere, either.

Fits perfectly to my Charles Daly 1911 GI and in RMSc foot print. The only issue is the post is too short for romeo zero with metal shield. so you cannot use the metal shield for romeo zero. The post is the same thickness of the metal shield that leaves the romeo zero mounted with only 2 screws without the post stopping. I left out the metal shield and it fits perfectly.

The dovetail on the mount is oversized and must be filed down quite a lot to fit. This is the second mount I have installed on my 1911's. Both of them required quite a bit of time to fit. Once installed they seem to be very sturdy. The optics aren't going to move!! Both my 1911"s are .45 ACP. If you do the install yourself be prepared to use a custom file of some sort. I used a Brownells file. It would be nice if the dovetail was a little less oversized. That said I will give it a 4 Star rating! Customer service was very good!!

My choice of sight for my 1911 A1 was the Primary Arms reflex sight. The location of the pins at the front of the base is too far from the screws that hold it down. The screws with shoulders that were provided were too long by over .100". The Primary Arms sight provides a metal encased area at the rear of the sight to accommodate locating pins. EGW provided no pins or way to accurately locate the sight at the rear. I had to build a set of sleeves and counterbore the base to provide the necessary location and support. I contacted EGW with a request for screws that would work and I offered suggestions. I was rebuffed. The person who responded told me that most customers throw the sleeves into the trash. Interesting reply. What sleeves? You certainly didn't provide any! I asked for shorter screws with shoulders and received a B.S. reply instead. This base is overpriced IMO and I had to rework it. My advice is to buy from some other vendor.

I mistakenly thought that my 1903 Colt had a GI dovetail cut. I was mistaken. It is smaller, so I'll have to cut it to fit. I intend to mount a SeeAll mk3 open sight, which mounts on a rmrc(compact, not micro). The SeeAll works great with practice. I have used one on a p365, and before that, a S&W Shield. My geezer eyes require a single sight focus point. Thanks, anyway, Raymus
