This was the only mount for the USP Compact I could find to kudos for making one. However, the fit was definitely an issue. The first one I tried to install was way too tight, a local gunsmith could not even press it in and it had to be cut out. The second one I ordered was also too tight but knowing that going in, we filed down the dovetail about a thousandth or two so it could be pressed in. This is critical if you want to get this mount to fit otherwise you will also be purchasing a second one :( . Would suggest EGW review the milling specs of this mount. When all was done the sight is mounted and I learned a $$ lesson.

Used this to mount a foxswamp kraken. Haven’t shot it yet but the mount seems sturdy and good quality. I did have to file it a bit to get it to fit and even after filing it went in tight, which is good so it stays in place. The tiny set screw that goes in the middle just goes to the bottom and just spins and wasn’t engaging any threads so it wasn’t locking anything in place, which wasn’t a big deal since the actual dovetail piece is very tightly fit.

Perfect fit for my H&K USP compact .45. The trijicon optic fit like a glove. Not an OJ glove either!

My biggest complaint with the UPC Compact 40 has been the sights. It seems like could never get a sight picture that worked for me. Moving to this is a game changer. I put an RMR on it and the fit and quality is exactly what I wanted. Took it to the range and with a bench rest, was hitting all bulls eyes at 45 feet! Of course, because Germans always over-engineer things, I'm not happy with the trigger so I'm redoing that next. But this mount is the only way to go with this handgun.

I ended up having to buy two of these. The first one was damaged upon installation. I was using a very good sight pusher tool, but it was so tight, I almost destroyed my sight pusher. I froze both of them and installed them IAW the instructional video. The sight pusher tool worked great removing and installing other sights, but the EGW mounting plate was too tight of a fit for the HK USP Compact. So now, I have one damaged mounting plate I can use for a fishing weight.

Thanks for the review. Im sorry to hear that you ran into issues when installing our sight mounts. We would like to say that our mounts will be a "drop in fit" on every gun but, unfortunately, due to manufacturing tolerances we are not always able to nail that. From time to time minor fitting/filing may be required to install our mounts. They need to be very tight when being installed so they do not come flying off after 50 rounds. We air on the larger side of tolerances because you can always remove some material to get the mount to fit, rather than having it too loose and then there is no option for your gun.

Minimal filing to get it to fit, but went in easy!

Great mount. It was a little tight to get it on but once mounted it works fine.
