The Perfect Balance: Keystone Strength in a Versatile 30mm Height
Experience the flagship performance of the EGW Keystone 30mm Scope Rings in a versatile medium height. Engineered for shooters who demand absolute reliability, the Keystone series provides a bomb-proof connection between your 30mm optic and rifle. With a centerline height of .990 inches, these rings are the ideal choice for 30mm scopes with larger objective lenses (up to 56mm) or for firearms like AR-15s that require additional clearance and a more heads-up shooting position.
The foundation of the Keystone ring is its robust, horizontally-split design, precision CNC-machined from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum. This is anchored by a heavy-duty Chromoly crossbolt and T15 Torx cap screws, a combination that delivers immense clamping force to ensure your scope remains locked in place, guaranteed. The Keystone series is the ultimate expression of our commitment to quality: a perfect blend of strength, precision, and value.
The EGW Keystone Advantage:
Flagship Performance for 30mm Tubes: Our best-selling ring, designed for the popular 30mm scope tube diameter.
Robust Hardware: Features a 1/2" Chromoly steel crossbolt and T15 Torx screws for a secure, non-slip fit.
Precision Machined: CNC-machined from solid 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum to the tightest tolerances.
Versatile Medium Height: The .990" height is perfect for large objective scopes and AR-platform rifles.
Made in the USA: Designed, machined, and assembled with pride in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
The Modern Advantage: Why We Use Aircraft-Grade Aluminum
While traditional steel rings have their place, modern metallurgy has proven that strength doesn't have to come with a massive weight penalty. We use domestically-sourced 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum for its incredible strength-to-weight ratio. It's more than strong enough to hold zero on the heaviest magnum calibers, yet light enough that it won't weigh down your rifle. Furthermore, aluminum allows for more precise machining than steel, resulting in a perfect, stress-free fit on your scope tube that prevents ring marks.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: When should I choose 30mm medium height (.990") rings?
A: You should choose the .990" height if your 30mm scope's objective lens is 52mm or larger, or if you are mounting the scope on an AR-15 or similar rifle. This height provides the necessary clearance over the rail and allows for a more comfortable, natural head position.
Q: What makes Keystone rings strong enough for heavy recoil?
A: The strength comes from a combination of smart engineering and superior materials. The 6061 aluminum body is incredibly strong, and the design is reinforced with a massive Chromoly steel crossbolt, which handles the shearing forces of recoil. This makes them more than tough enough for magnum calibers.
Q: Can I use these rings on a Weaver-style base?
A: Yes. The Chromoly crossbolt is designed to fit securely in both Picatinny and Weaver-style rail slots, making them a versatile option for a wide range of firearms.
Q: Why do you use T15 Torx screws for the caps?
A: T15 Torx screws provide a more positive engagement than older Allen (hex) style screws. This significantly reduces the chances of stripping the screw head when you apply the proper torque, ensuring a secure and repeatable installation.
Q: Are Keystone rings sold individually or as a pair?
A: All EGW scope rings, including the Keystone series, are sold as a matched pair to ensure perfect alignment and a secure fit right out of the box.

Again...perfection! The rings did not need lapping. They were a perfect fit. Front and rear rings were perfectly aligned putting no stress on the scope tube. EGW is my go to for scope mounting.

The Keystone 30mm scope rings were built to a level of precision, robust to the point to where I had to ask myself why I was was using Nighthforce and Leupould upper echelon offerings on all of my rifles, not just the precision models. What impressed me even more than the scope rings were the CZ picking scope bases with MOA added in so that I could get the necessary adjustment ranges for 1K meter shots where some scopes would run out of elevation adjustments.
