We thought that a metal plunger tube stake in tool wasn't the way to go since you end up marking up the frame with metal-on-metal contact. We decided to machine our stake-in tool out of Hard Delrin, the same material we make our bushing wrenches out of. Plunger tube kit comes with plunger box, staking bar and two tips.Instructions available here.

“Worked pretty well. To keep it from bouncing and shifting around, I wrapped a scrap of towel around the rod to wedge in the magwell. Needed to hit it harder than I expected, but it did work. No issues with plunger tube crush or distortion. Be careful - it tends to bounce when hit, so it needs to be realigned before hitting it again.”

“This is a simple tool for a simple task. The cost is much better than other tools, not to mention availability. Surprisingly easy to use. Watch the video if unsure like I was.”
