“Customer Review of EGW Para/Clark barrel ramp cutter I received this cutter from EGW. It looked good although it seemed to be about .002" [about .358"] undersized for making the ramp cut. I measured both a Colt and a Para Ordnance barrels and they both miked out to be about .362" in width. This means you'd have to make an extra cut to complete the machining but this is no big deal for a competent machinist or gunsmith. In the end, I decided not to use the EGW cutter and I purchased a standard M1911 barrel for my Frankenstein M1911 build. But I would recommend the EGW Para Barrel Ramp Cutter for folks planning to modify a standard M1911 frame to fit a Para/Clark ramped barrel.”

“This cutter is the correct size to mill out the frame. Fitting the frame to match the width of the lugs is important for accuracy and reliability. I'm installing a Kart ramped barrel (Clark-Para) style in my bullseye gun. My old Kart non-ramped barrel served me well for 30 years of hard shooting and since my feed ramp in the frame was modified from the previous owner I wanted a ramped barrel. It was welded once and I do not want to weld it again to get it back in spec. I would recommend this end mill. Thanks.”
