It put the dot in the center of the optic windows so can adjust for me.

I have a recoil enabled laser pistol that I uset to train at home. Unfortunately that pistol is not capable of having a slide cut for mounting a red dot sight. Thus, I have to slide an adapter plate into the reat sight groove (Glock replica airsoft-type pistol). This makes the Holosun red dot sit so high that the dot cannot be adjusted down far enough to be on target for about a ten yard zero. I found this shim through an internet search. I just put it on and remounted the red dot. I was super happy to see the dot almost perfectly aligned now, requiring minimal fine tuning and not having to adjust it all the way to the limits. Thank goodness for this product! I am going to recommend it to Laser Ammo so that maybe they can put a link to it on their website.

I have a red dot hitting 8-10" high at 25 yrds and no more down adjustment. So I bought a 1 degree shim and put the higher/fatter end in the rear to cant the red dot down?? Now it didn't help at all! if anything it was HIGHER yet! It's on a ruger redhawk with a scope rail on it. Should I try it the other way??

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Im sorry to hear that you are running into issues with the shim, perhaps we can shed some light on the issue and get you back on target. If your point of impact is high, you will want the thick end of the shim to be in the front and not the rear. If you reverse the shim that should fix the issue that you are having. Think of the dot and the target as stationary objects that are always in line with each-other, now add the shim with the thicker part at the back, that will pivot you gun with the muzzle facing up, thus raising the point of impact. Same scenario but now imagine the thicker part of the wedge under the front of the dot, that would pivot the muzzle of the gun down, lowering the point of impact. I hope this info helps and if you run into any other issues please feel free to reach out to our customer support.

Shim is a perfect fit. Only minor issue, not to do with the shim is the front recoil posts on the plate are bearly long enough to extend above the top of the shim. Looking forward to adding some height to the optic's sight without having its adjustment screw at its max upper limit. Lastly, nothing to do with the shim, but USPS mail was much too slow on delivery of the shims. Disappointed that I waited over one week to receive them.
