“Best sight out there for the price great quality. Love the battery access on the top of the sight. No need to remove the sight to change the battery.”
“Ten rounds to sight it in, 1/2" group at ten yards. Unfortunately, the M&P 22 compact began to consistently fail to function after forty rounds and got worse. I was shooting a 40gr lead bullet at an alleged 1200 fps,(Federal). Seem to be a fouling issue more than a weight problem. So, before I clean the weapon I will try some Hyper-velocity ammo. If that doesn't work a weaker return spring. I like the sight. It functioned out of the box, but I may need to go to a lighter sight.”
“I was very distressed to find that the battery cover wouldn't screw down with a battery installed. This turned out to be a very common problem, can't believe they haven't fixed it. Vortex's published solution did not work for me, and I ended up prying the gasket off the inside of the cover. That solved the problem and did not prevent the sight from working.
Other than that I have no complaints. I live in the high desert but full sunlight doesn't wash out the dot. There's no flare on full power. I like the cover that comes with it. It was easy to zero. If not for the battery cover issue I'd give it five stars.”
“I was impressed with the sight and packaging out of the box, a picatinny rail mount (which I did not need) was included, and mounting screws for other applications. I could not get the battery compartment cover to seat with the battery installed, until I removed the small rubber spacer attached to the inside of the cover. I liked the wide view and clarity, and the ergonomics of the brightness adjustments. The honeymoon ended at the range - windage adjustment worked fine, but elevation did not. I could not significantly alter the point of impact in a vertical direction, although the adjustment screw ultimately was taken to the full stop position. I will be returning the sight for a replacement.”
