“This is my second pair of Engage shorts and they've both had that same unusual fit. they're very high up the crotch OR you have to wear them low on the waist (not ideal for combat sports). I'm really hoping they stretch a bit after time because I do really like them.
I got these for running and they're certainly built for that, you will not be able to roll or kick in these and they're too restrictive - but I don't think they're designed for that anyway.
The waterproof pockets are great, keeps my phone dry, Ive not had much success with the thigh pocket as my phone is an Ultra with a heavy case so it just sags too much, but if you had a regular sized phone it might work.
The silicon waistband does work well even when sweating, but again the unusual fit does still make me need to pull these up a bit, kind of annoying. Ive never had any pair of gym shorts from major brand fit like this.
They definitely run a size small too, I'm usually an XL with a 40ish inch waist, I went for the 2XL and they're FITTED. luckily I'm a bit over my usual weight so they'll fit better soon, but consider going up a size.
Over all I really like these shorts, but I think they might be my last pair of Engage shorts, as both these and the chrome MMA shorts (which I even got in 3XL!) have been too tight up the crotch/low on the waist. Ive never experienced this before so it might just be a fit problem for me.”
