I don’t know if you’re familiar with working with longer wigs and detangling them already, but if not, I'd like to go over a few things about handling long wigs.
Long wigs need more attention and maintenance simply due to their long length. They have over thousands and thousands of small wig fibers that tangle more easily than a shorter wig. It’s not easy dealing with a long wig, but there are ways to mitigate that.
We recommend using a wide tooth comb. Please always comb the very BOTTOM of the wig and gradually work your way to the top. Always avoid starting from top to bottom. Once you’ve successfully combed out the current area, move your comb a little higher. If frizzing/matting starts to happen, typically a normal flat iron (avoid chi irons) on low setting can sometimes remove the frizziness. If not, it just means it’s too damage and you would most likely need to trim that area off.
Frizziness is caused by the comb pulling on the wig which creates tension on the fibers. The resulting tension creates heat energy within the fibers which causes it to frizz. Again, putting a flat iron on low sitting usually fixes this.
