We love how accurate these are and the fact that the face is thick plastic not glass. They do tend to crack if your baristas are not careful however.

It’s a very nice thermometer. Pretty easy to read. Unfortunately, the little clip on the side of the “sheath” broke off after a week of using it. Other than that, it works well.

My order showed up sooner than expected very happy with service unfortunately I am not a coffee shop owner so most things are out of my price range like a $3000 bur grinder so for now I’ll have the coffee shop grind my espresso beans, the steaming thermometer works great.

I have a Rancilio Silvia fitted with a PID. I had been frustrated by my inability to steam milk. Sometimes I would hit it just right, but often I didn't. I did some research and learned that the optimum temperature for microfoam is 140F. This led to the purchase of this thermometer. I never could have anticipated the difference this tool would make in my ability to transform milk into microfoam. The size is perfect (just the right length) and I love the easy-to-read dial, with temps in both C and F; it's great that the 140F sweet spot is designated by a green band. I checked the calibration after I had used it several times, but it was only a (immaterial) degree or two out. The sheath cleverly includes a built-in calibration wrench. But the big surprise was how my use of a thermometer improved my ability to steam milk into microfoam. I no longer have to guess when it's done (my guesses were rarely accurate, even after years of practice). It's now perfect every time. I can't say enough good things about how much this thermometer has improved my lattes! I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
