“I’ve wanted this grinder for a couple of years.
Finally had the chance to pull the trigger and make the purchase and couldn’t be happier.
My main grinder for many years has been a high-quality hand grinder, but the grind that this grinder produces is far superior.”
“Pro: Good price, consistent grind results, low retention, not ugly.
Cons: Cleaning the grind chute is a bit awkward, reviews are not differentiating between gen 1 and gen 2, no gate to hold the beans back while pre-running the burrs.
For my use, I had to dig to find “con” arguments.
(Note - I have found scathing reviews on the Ode gen 2 that predate the release date, which leads one to conclude they were reviewing the original Ode grinder: different results from the two are not unexpected.)”
“This Fellows Ode version II grinder is an honest game-changer for the coffee aficionado. There is vast improvement over the Ariete grinder I have been using for our French press. The grind is more uniform with much less 'dust' residue. The flavor of the beans is improved: smoother and creamier. The anti-static feature is so nice. I would give it five stars except for one thing: it has trouble starting the grind and often stops before the grind is done. I press the start button as needed to keep it going and all is well.”
