I've always read that there was a loud impact sound, and that is correct. But I wasn't expecting as much play with the moving parts as there is. It is nicely built, but other less expensive spring tampers have smoother action. That said, I customized the handle to a larger walnut version of the mushroom that I found in walnut. There are many handle options with the Force Tamper, but none of them from the company interested me. So I waited for a sale to be able to justify paying a bit more for the right handle from another company. The Force Tamper has a great selection of optional bases and sizes, so the ecosystem you buy into is pretty rich. 3rd parties make quite a few of those options. Which is fantastic.

This is a pretty damn good alternative to a much more expensive alternative to an automated tamper. Being able to adjust the tamp pressure is key and very easy. It’s made a difference in a level tamp in my workflow.

Excellent upgrade to the morning ritual. It's been a dramatic improvement over my standard tamp that came with the machine - primarily, in the consistency and ease of use. That said, I think my favorite thing about it is the design. The beautiful wooden knob and stainless steel finish really look nice next to the espresso machine. Can't recommend this enough. I know it's a big purchase but it's absolutely worth it.

Despite owning lots of espresso tools, I waited some time before ordering The Force Tamp. The video reviews were very positive; so is my opinion. It is the best tool I've found for consistent pressure & the full 58.5mm size ensures the entire diameter of the filter basket is evenly tamped.

I've heard about this tamper for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. The only quirk is the coffee ground built up behind the tamper base. However, it's easy to clean using a blower. Using it is a breeze, surprisingly light and very little Force is required to tamp - No buyer remorse whatsoever!

Because I have arthritis in my hands, my tamps were becoming very uneven and very sloppy. With The Force, every tamp is perfect. Such a relief!

200$ not easy to make discussion, but worth it.
