I have tried the basket that came with my Rancillo, too small and a naked portafilter for triple shot, too big. This size is working flawlessly with an 18.5 gram dose in the naked portafilter. “Compared this filter to a VST. For the same coffee, grind, dose, espresso machine, and shot time it produced extractions of over 2 percentage points less than the VST. We can't get extractions over 18% unless we pull really long shots, and the taste reflects the extractions. VST baskets easily produce extractions at 20%, with much better taste. I know others have good luck with IMS, but for our coffee they produce inferior results.”
