“This water reservoir does not fit in the Wega Lyra that I purchased in 2002. There is a plastic tube that extends down near the outer circumference on the bottom of the reservoir which prevents it from fully engaging into the receiver. There is no apparent function for this tube and I had to cut it off to be able to use it at all. Also, the plunger mechanism on the bottom of the reservoir which pushes up on the valve mechanism isn't long enough and it barely opens the valve. Therefore, the valve does not open far enough to allow adequate water flow to the pump causing cavitation in the water line that feeds the pump. To summarize, this water reservoir is way over priced at $160, it doesn't fit the Wega Lyra at all, and now I have a useless piece of plastic laying in a drawer.
Espresso Parts should put more specific information about what models this reservoir will actually fit in and function properly. It doesn't work at all for the Wega Lyra I own.”
